Listen, the technology being used for creating the game is constantly evolving.
Since 2016 unreal engine has evolved from UE4 to UE5, and multiplayer segmentation software with the ability to create elastic servers capable of handling hundreds of players has been evolving every single month.

The staff of Bellum Studio is currently occupied with studies, other services, and many more projects, so in all honesty, such an ambitious project might remain inactive for years, or until some kind of investor that isn't trying to loan shark us comes along interested in our idea.

Until then, sign up to the newsletter if you really want to know what is going on, but be adviced, not much will happen anytime soon.

Fundamentals about the game:

It is the year 2028, and the economy of the Hellenic Republic has completely collapsed, after a string of political leaders made big promises to get elected, and failed to deliver on them.

Due to civil unrest, militias start forming, claiming that the government is run by foreign powers and that it requires radical cleansing.
People start rallying behind the cause en masse, but after a series of manufactured attacks, the government declares martial law.
Due to these events, the previously formed militias, attempt to seize control of the government by staging a coup, and electing their Great General as Leader in order to organize the country.
After the coup nearly succeeds, NATO installs troops in the country in order to prevent a fully fledged military government from forming.

Officially on a peacekeeping mission (for now), NATO troops only guard major towns and merely become involved to stop significant devastation and suppress terrorism.
At the same time numerous militia groups, following different ideologies, have sprung up attacking the government, NATO, and each other in an attempt to seize control.
Many civilians that remained unprotected by the factions became implicated in criminal unions to defend themselves.
Funded by illegal activities and caught in the war many large-scale mafia families have also joined the fight.
Weapons caches and telecommunication facilities have now become greatest target for all factions, but they are worth nothing if they can't be secured long term.

This game has been inspired by Arma 2 Takistan life.
The basic concept fueling the fun for the game is the realistic economy that is balanced in a way that aims to make the game fun for all different kinds of players and playstyles.
Players will be provided with a wide variety of ways to make money, from being a police officer, or transporting items, to transporting illegal substances across borders, or smuggling weapons. While also always being provided with options of upgrading their items and purchasing new item, allowing them to move up the ladder onto more lucrative opportunities.
The primary goal of factions will be to establish territorial control and handicap opposing groups. By securing security checkpoints and valuable areas, these groups can initiate massive battles to determine a victor.

Gameplay will feature a wide variety of realistic content.
Our multiplayer plans to be the first of its kind, by creating a unique online game mode that allows players to split into factions, gangs, squads and get rich or die trying.
Players will be able to earn credits to improve their faction.
Jobs will range from simple delivery missions, security checks, to smuggling illegal items across teritiories.
With the money earned a wide variety of equipment can be bought.
Many realistic weapons, devices, and vehicles will be purchasable.
Some only available to certain factions or illegal for others to possess.
The primary goal of some factions will be to control telecommunication facilities, with numerous on each map, massive battles will surround these facilities, with info and credits being rewarded to any faction that controls the areas for an extended period.

The servers will consist of worlds with at least 200 player slots. These servers will restart for 10 minutes every 24 hours to remove any dropped items/unused vehicles and optimize performance.
(does not mean that player storages and structures will be deleted too, only unlocked vehicles and lost items)
There will be one wipe every 30 days removing player structures and unlocked cars
(SpawnVaults will not be affected)

A game simulation that utilises distributed physics that are powered by Improbable's SpatialOS

SpatialOS

We are looking forward to becoming one of the development companies integrating SpatialOS in their game.
SpatialOS will enable our game to handle an unusual quantity of clients on our servers, changing the multiplayer game industry standards for good.
This technology is already being utilised for events in the metaverse and online concerts.

Unreal Engine is a complete suite of creation tools designed to meet ambitious artistic visions while being flexible enough to ensure success for teams of all sizes.
As an established, industry-leading engine, Unreal delivers powerful, proven performance that we can trust, and with the new possibilities UE5 brings to the table, we cant go wrong choosing it.

Other Tools We Want To Utilize

Nvidia GameWorks (On the left) and Prefabricator (On the right) are some tools we are really looking forward to utilizing

Our developers need the best tools, samples, and libraries to bring creations to life.
NVIDIA's award winning GameWorks SDK gets us access to the best technology from the leader in visual computing.

With nested prefab support and powerful randomization features, Prefabricator opens up exciting opportunities for constructing our in-game world and making the game experience unique.
Prefabricator is free and open source.

Reality Check

This project is hard to make, we are throwing the book at this one and doing our best, but it will most likely not happen soon.
